Similarly, you could say the same for the Democratic party which is all over the place. Conservative Democrats, Libertarian Democrat, Christian Democrats, Progressive Democrat and so on.

Even many Democrats don't understand much about the Healtcare issues or where they stand. Seems to be an issue across the board.

And as for these polls, do they only poll idiots? Seriously? Most Republicans (that I know at least) understand the issues at hand and we discuss them quite regularly.

And btw, Huckabee is an idiot. Had to throw that in there for good measure. So if anyone out there would like to poll me, be my guest. But they don't seem to like polling those who have brain activity.

I'm still trying to figure out, though, why people who question Obama and the current administration are "patriotic" and those who questioned Bush and his administration were "unpatriotic"...when the government is taking us to a bad place (be it socialism, or lying our way into a war), it's good for people to take a stand.

Your point is well taken about the Republicans I mocked. That does seem contrary to my overall point that these people don't think for themselves. However, I made this statement before going after Bennett and Hatch:

"That is the same Republican Party that so many conservatives still defend as the voice of conservatism."

In voting for someone that is far, far from conservative ideals, Hatch and Bennett were voting against what they supposedly stand for. That leads me to question, "what is in it for them"?

$4,300 is a significant sum of money for a lot of people. Regardless of the excuses, this fee is created as a barrier to entry for the common man, often living pay check to pay check.

Both of these issues come together on one point. A vast majority of Congress now and historically have been lawyers. Sunstein wants to pave the way for lawyers to become even more wealthy through dishonest means. One of the reasons lawyers are so common in Washington is their existing wealth. The lawyers work to protect themselves. This is also why tort reform has been and always will be off the table in the healthcare debate. No one in Washington will stop the lawyers from becoming rich.

Or as a wise man once wrote concerning lawyers:

"Now, it was for the sole purpose to get again, because they received their wages according to their employ, therefore, they did stir up the people to riotings, and all manner of disturbances and wickedness, that they might have more employ, that they might get money according to the suits which were brought before them; therefore they did stir up the people"

I agree, most of Washington D.C is corrupt; sad but true.

But I'm confused some what by this post. You say you don't allign or blindly support one party or the other because they solely represent their party's agenda, and yet when they vote on an issue with the opposing party, we call them buffoons and and accuse them of being disloyal to their party and throw out earmark comments. Perhaps they are voting their conscience or feel strongly about this issue?

This way of thinking will only lead to conspiracy theory after conspiracy theory.

(Personally, I think the Sunstein is an extremist and a quack, but that's neither here nor there)

And another thought: if a candidate does not take the initiative or have the motivation to raise $4,300 from his or her supporters to run for Senate, I'm not sure I would want that person on the ballot. Even us, the little people can raise that amount of money.

The so called "Mainstream Media" Strikes again! I watched CNN Headline News on Sunday morning, and they spent about 30 seconds on the Protest, by picking out 1 sign that mentioned Hitler, then dismissed the whole thing as a Fringe Conservative Group of People who Hate Obama!
As long as we have the Quote "Mainstream Media" Presenting 30 minutes of "Editorial" every night, Not "NEWS" Then they label it "The Nightly News" or "World News" They are complicit in the Political Fraud being perpetrated on the American People by reporting there opinionated rhetoric as NEWS.
They should be forced to put a statement in the credits each night that this is a "Political Advertisement funded by the Cronies of the Obama Administration and Democratic Party"
What happened to actually reporting the News based on facts and leaving the conclusions and meanings to the viewing public, or at least the actual "Editorials"?

I respect your opinion. However, it is my personal belief that the Constitution was indeed inspired by God. The founders were most definitely influenced by God and followed the promptings of the Holy Spirit, which they often prayed for, in writing the Constitution.

I didn't make this argument either. I said we should love our neighbors. I didn't define how to do that. The government forcefully taking our money and giving it to whomever it wishes by whatever criteria those in power today choose is in no what charity. Concerning separation of church and state, the founders meant this only to mean that the church did not declare a state religion, forcing citizens into a particular sect. It does not mean "freedom from religion". George Washington said in his farewell address:

"Let it simply be asked, where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligations desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice? And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. My point is that good and evil can be interpreted differently and is relative to a persons POV, but the fact is that BHO is out of the bounds of his position and needs to get back in. Regardless of your interpretation of good and evil he outside the bounds of the agreement.

We'll have to agree to disagree on the social programs. I personally feel that providing some resources through the Gov is a good means [not the only or most effective] for managing some of those kinds of organizations.

Conversely, by your same argument, the Savior did not say give to your individual church/charitable organizations and let them love your neighbor either.

Additionally, the Savior was not implicitly or historically one of the founding Fathers of the USA and did not sign our DOI and I believe firmly in the separation of Church and State. But, I believe (as I am sure that you do) that being charitable with your money is a good for peoples character regardless of religious beliefs (or lack thereof). The caveat is that individuals should have the freedom to choose which (if any)organization they will entrust with their monies to carry out the charitable act. My position is that making some resources available through the Gov is a good thing too, just as long as it doesn't get to be excessive and is based on charity (Free Will) not compulsion (Marxism).
